Were home prices up or down in the first half of 2015?
Home prices increased. The median closed price was $233,500, an increase of
8.6% over 2014. The 2015 median price was higher than any year since 2007.
How long were Matthews homes on the market in 2015?
Homes spent less time on the market this year. Median days on market was 57
days down from 78 days in 2014.
What was the Matthews condominium and townhome market like in
2015?
Twenty townhomes sold in the first half. The median sales price was
$187,750. Median days on market was 52 days.
Were distressed sales a big factor in the 2015 market?
Foreclosures and short sales were only 4% of the marketplace in the first
half. This is a smaller portion of the market than during the recession years
when distressed sales were often 30% of the marketplace.
Were there many new homes built in Matthews in 2015?
Matthews hasn’t had much new construction in 2015. New homes were only 3.2%
of the closed sales. Most homes sold were resales.
