Easter Egg Hunts in Charlotte's Small Towns

Spring in the Charlotte region means that the dogwoods are blooming and easter eggs can be seen hanging on front yard trees.  It’s time for area children to get excited about the Easter Bunny and searching for the colorful eggs that the bunny leaves behind.

Many of Charlotte’s small towns sponsor Easter egg hunts.  In 2014, these Easter events begin on April 11th.  Your children can have lunch with the Easter Bunny or join a group of youngsters scrambling to find the eggs.  They can even hunt for Easter eggs with a GPS.

Here is the schedule of small town Easter activities.

Matthews NC

The smallest children, ages 2-5, can have lunch with the Easter Bunny on April 11th.  This event takes place at the Matthews Community Center from 11am to 12 noon.  An Easter craft and a photo with the bunny are included in the $7 fee.

The Easter Bunny and his photographer are back on April 12th from 11am to 2pm at Stumptown Park.  Children under the age of 12 can participate in the annual egg hunt and enjoy carnival games and music.

Union County NC

How about a high tech Easter egg hunt that the whole family can enjoy?  At 2pm on April 12th, Union County will sponsor a GPS hunt at Cane Creek Park.  The county will supply the GPS units.  The first family to complete the hunt will receive a prize.

Stallings NC

The Stallings Easter Egg Hunt takes place on the Stallings Elementary ball fields.  This event will be held on April 19th from 10am to 12:30pm.  It’s free for Stallings residents and $1 for non-residents.  Participants need to get a Stallings Egg Hunt Pass from the Town Hall.

Indian Trail NC

Hop to It is Indian Trail’s Easter event.  It will take place at the Indian Trail Cultural Arts Center on April 19th.  Activities start at 9:30 am with a free Easter craft.  At 10am, photos with the Easter Bunny will start.  The Easter Egg Hunt is a 10:15, 10:30 and 10:45 for different age groups.
