Northeast Middle School is a Grades 6-8 school operating on a traditional
calendar. The school is located at the northern edge of Mint
Hill and serves students in parts of Mint Hill and Charlotte. It opened in
1976 and was expanded in 1981. The school has a new gym and cafeteria.
The school has approximately 850 students with average class sizes ranging
from 22 to 26. Northeast Middle was designated a NC School of Progress with
Expected Growth in the 2010-11 school year.
