Crestdale Middle School is located near historic downtown Matthews NC.
It serves grades six through eight on a traditional calendar. The school has
approximately 980 students. The average class size is 28.
Crestdale Middle has 57 full-time teachers Of these, 20 have advanced
degrees, 18 are National Board Certified, and 21 have taught more than ten
years.
Academic enrichment classes are available for each student each semester.
Each student is matched with a class that will develop an academic skill related
to an interest unique to the child.
Crestdale has “SMART” technology in every classroom. The school also has
three computer labs, each outfitted with 31 desktop computers and one
printer.
The arts are emphasized at Crestdale with classes available in art, band,
dance, drama, and orchestra. A number of student clubs are also available
including Battle of the Books, Beta Club, Chess Club, Dance Team, Drama Club
among others.
