Elizabeth Lane Elementary is located in Matthews NC
at the intersection of Highway 51 and Elizabeth Lane. The school serves
neighborhoods in Matthews and Charlotte located
along Highway 51 from Sardis Road to Providence Road. A number of neighborhoods
along Elizabeth Lane are within walking distance of the school.
Elizabeth Lane Elementary opened in 1996. It has a unique design that
features classroom buildings organized around a central courtyard. In the
2010-2011 school year, the school had approximately 1000 students with class
sizes ranging from 20 to 26 students.
Elizabeth Lane is an award-winning school. In 2010-2011, the school was
named an Honor School of Excellence with High Growth. The school met all of its
performance targets in the AYP program.
