Marvin Ridge High School opened in August 2007. The school currently has approximately 1200 students in grades 9 through 12. Class sizes average from 18 to 31 students.
Marvin Ridge High was named a North Carolina Honor School of Excellence with High Growth in 2009-2010. The school has a college preparatory environment. In addition to the availability of Honors and Advanced Placement classes, Marvin Ridge High has the only International Baccalaureate Diploma program in the Union County schools.
Marvin Ridge High School serves neighborhoods in the Marvin NC and Waxhaw NC areas. Three elementary schools feed into Marvin Ridge Middle and then into Marvin Ridge High School: Rea View Elementary, Marvin Elementary, and Sandy Ridge Elementary.
