Kensington Elementary School in Waxhaw NC is one of Union County’s newest schools. The school opened in 2005 and has been a North Carolina High Growth school every year since it opened. Kensington has been a North Carolina Honor School of Excellence every year since 2006. It was designated a Union County Public Schools “International School” in 2010.
Kensington Elementary is a traditional K-5 school. It houses approximately 724 students during the 2010-2011 school year. Average class sizes range from 18 to 24 students. Kensington Elementary students attend Cuthbertson Middle and Cuthbertson Senior High Schools.
