Mint Hill NC Historical Society Events in November

Want to know more about the War between the States?  If so, you can enjoy several re-enactments and living history events in Mint Hill NC in November.  The Mint Hill Historical Society sponsors these events at the Carl J. McEwen Historic Village in downtown Mint Hill.

Here is information about the historical events scheduled in November.

November 5 2-5pm   War Between the States for home school students.

Students will receive a hands-on history lesson on life during the Civil War era from demonstrations and re-enactors.

November 5  7pm  Lee and Jackson…the last meeting

Civil-war re-enactors will play the roles of these two generals discussing strategic plans for their attack on the northern line.  This would be prior to Jackson’s last battle.

November 6   9am-3pm  Salute to Veterans

The Historic Village will be exhibiting Civil War memorabilia along with demonstrations by re-enactors.

The Carl J. McEwen Historic Village is a wonderful place to visit any time of the year.  It houses a collection of historic buildings moved from other areas of Mint Hill, including the Mint Hill County Doctor’s Museum, the Ira V. Ferguson Country Store, the Ashcraft One Room School House and the Surface Hill Gold Assay office.  The Village is open year round Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 2pm.
