The 2009 Matthews NC real estate market reflected the market in Charlotte and surrounding areas. Single family average sales prices were down about ten percent from 2008, an indication that first time home buyers dominated the marketplace. Sales prices deteriorated even more in the condo/townhome market, dropping by 21%. 2009 also saw fifteen percent fewer homes sold in Matthews.
